For the last two days I've had a little visitor here while her
Mom went to visit
one of her best friends. One morning we got out the barbie car and some old travel cases filled with barbies and accessories. We undressed them and dressed them up again, even braiding and fixing some messy hairdos.
It reminded me of another time . . . on a humid porch in Indonesia. She wanted to see the pictures and we had fun going through them.
There we sat in the hammock surrounded by windows of fine mesh. The barbies were loved.
She introduced me to auntie Laura, auntie Kristal and auntie Kari.
As we swayed and chatted there,
her brother and sister were jumping on the tramp just off side.
It's a memory now of a time I would not have guessed that in exactly a year we'd be playing barbies in Canada, in our family room . . . and picking up the other two after school. A sweet surprise.

She is so cute!
Hammock memories.. so sweet. And I love that your 'wish' came true. I know you are waiting for another one - it will happen too!
Very sweet indeed! Love the hammock!
Awwwww - so adorable! You write the sweetest things about your grands.
I wish we could have more replays at life...but we can now share those moments with our grands..perfect setting in a hammock.
What precious times! Enjoy those grandchildren!

So thankful that you could watch our kids for me!!!
Thank you, Mom!
We never know what waits around the corner - this change was a beautiful one for you and the little family.
It is so wonderful that you have such a rich memory bank. That time in Indonesia will have been more far reaching than you will ever know...in so many ways.
What a special post. Bringing memories along side the new moments that will in a year from now be another wonderful memory. Isn't that how life's goes.
