Shaun and Kristal dropped off Natalie, Landon and Koen so they could attend the Mercy Me Concert.
I'm listening to I can only Imagine as I type . . . and it's all good.
We enjoyed our time with the kids as we walked to the park,
watched them on the monkey bars and run home trying to catch the falling leaves in the wind.
For Faspa we had ham and cheese pinwheels, veggies, apple salad, buns with jam and cheese,
cream puffs and oatmeal chocolate fudge bars.
They ate with gusto . . . can you believe that?
After we cleared the table they brought out the cards they had brought
to play King's Corner.
It's a game they taught me recently and now Papa had to learn it too.
Natalie dealt the cards, put a stack in the middle facing down and and one on each side, facing up.
When a player had a king, he got added on the corner.
The goal of the game is to place numbers in consecutive order going down,
alternating black and red.

Sweetness - precious days for you and for them!
What a perfect afternoon and evening. Sounds like one when our girls went to my parents when they were young. Walk, food, games and bedtime. How nice that your kids were able to go and enjoy the evening concert date night.
Now that sounds like a perfect Sunday afternoon to me! I used to play Chinese checkers with my grandma (never playing cards though :).
That is just so neat. I appreciate you teaching the game here... I think I could do that with a few more details.
That's just the best...a warm day to play and enjoy the colors of Autumn and to enjoy the seasons of everyone together. Oh...yes...Faspa...I love it. It's fun to play card games as the grow older. It's so much more fun than watching them play with their technology.
Sounds like a fun afternoon and evening! I love that they are teaching all of you to play games...isn't it fun?! :-)
Fun times! That card game looks like I could learn it... :)
Enjoyed getting caught up! Beautiful photos of your book signing weekend. Your adventure continues! Love the envelope of treasures and the sweet note from Lacey...how full your heart must have been when you opened that precious gift! Great post abt your SIL, Chris. He sounds like a fine young...yes I mean young...man!! The park, games, yummy food...sounds like a "grand" time to me! :-)
Another wonderful and sweet post about special times with your grands! The card game reminds me a bit of dominos?? It looks like fun. Your Faspa sounds so delicious and that apple salad just might show up on our Thanksgiving table this weekend! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Anneliese!
