It was Monika and Bob's turn to host and
with our own kids away this weekend, we were a smaller group, so she decided to host in her home
instead of at the Lakehouse. She did such a beautiful job of creating an atmosphere of thanksgiving with her decor. I loved how she incorporated her Willow Tree figurines.
Somehow I did not get Bob into the photos, but he is surely there, always making sure people are welcomed and comfortable.
This year it was a lot about the new babies who arrived this summer and it was a lot of fun to
see the pride and the love shared within the family members.
It so happened, I pulled out my camera more often than I had intended,
so I will just invite you to scroll through the pics
and catch a glimpse of what the photos tell.
Darren and Chelsea are smiling because their girls are off playing on their own by now.
Grandma Carrie in love.
Older cousins enthralled with auntie Naomi feeding Mackenzie.
And since the potato bar went over so well last year,
we decided to repeat it . . .
baked potatoes with chili, beef stew, a variety of toppings and salads.

Missed you all! Happy thanksgiving!
Looked like a really nice family gathering....all ages enjoying each other....I like that. I like the potato bar idea.
It's always so good for family to be together...and you do the best job of documenting it! Great photos...of family and food.
Those are really beautiful photos Anneliese. You capture the sentiment so well. I love the photos! I'm thankful your family is not camera shy. =)
Looks like you had a wonderful time. What a blessing...and all those cute babies!
Thanks for the beautiful documentation. So much to be thankful for.
What a great celebration you had!
Hi Anneliese,
Your pictures are beautiful; do you have a recipe for the Pumpkin Streusel cake? It looks divine!!
You are all so very blessed!
Next time I will try baking the potatoes the way the Celebrations Cookbook says... I admit, I often don't look at instructions that I think I know how to do... alternative ways are sometimes easier and better. Lesson learned :)
Karin, my niece, who brought the cake used a slightly differnet variation, but it was very much like the one posted here ...

Monika, you are a true cook. Who would have thought there may be tips in the cookbook? =)
It was all good ... especially Bob's wrapping job. He may be happy to know he never has to wrap potatoes again.
Your beautiful pictures really do tell the story of a wonderful family gathering. I could feel the love!!!
Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful photos of family enjoying each other.
What a wonderful day for you all! You are blessed!
Wonderful photos of a great time together. Family is such a blessing.
Looks picture perfect Anneliese. It's fun to see all those little ones and you get to see from the outside this time. Looks like you have started a great tradition with that Potato Bar.
A lovely Thankgiving - so sweet to see the new babies. And I love the baked potato bar idea. I'm going to keep that one in mind for a family gathering.
Thank you for the privilege of stepping into your belated Thanksgiving celebration. How blessed you are to have so many in attendance and so many smiling faces. Great blessings in this life.
