Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the works Thy hands have made . . .
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
They power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art.
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze.

That is so beautiful...Guess what I will be singing all day...what a way to start my day.
One of my favourite hymns!
And that is 'thanksgiving'...singing praises from the soul!
Beautiful, Anneliese. A very happy Thanksgiving weekend to you and yours!!
This was my favorite song as a child. I would always call out #34 when it was hymn sing Sunday.
A cute story about this song: When Doug was little and his church would sing this song, he thought they were singing about a man named "Art" in his congregation! How Great Thou Art! He always wondered how it was that Art got a song written about him. :-)
Kathy, that story made me smile. Reminded me of two other hymn/chorus stories...
(1)"Andy walks with me Andy talks with me" (my girlfriend's little boy one day found out that it was not Andy)
(2)"He came from heaven to earth my dad to pay" (to my nephew this made sense because his dad is an accountant)
Beautiful pictures and a great reminder!
Beautiful photos, beautiful hymn. One of my all time favorites, it'll be running through my mind as I lay my head down to sleep tonight!
Beautifully majestic.
Perfect pictures to a most worshipful song.
