A year ago we walked down to Fishtrap Creek close to our house. You won't remember how you first clung to me, afraid the geese were going to come and get you . . .
This past week I've been back there again,
observing a new generation of geese watch over their young and,
because I can not take you there this year,
I'll share these pictures with you to possibly plant a seed of a memory for you.
Then one day we'll go back to Fishtrap Creek in the Spring
and you'll feel like you've already seen it all. Just like you did the first time.

I think you intended this post to be sweet and light, but you're making me cry! I feel so sad to think about you going to see the geese all alone this year. :-( What a precious memory and pictures!
OH...I can imagine how you would love to take her back to fish trap creek...maybe on a sunny day. I feel for you! Sweet photos of a precious little girl.
She is so adorable, especially her little pony tail.
So sweet . . . both your little one and your words! Sounds like the creek may be a special place for the two of you.
I think Lacey's sundress is so cute!! What darling pictures you have of her.
Just as you said in your subtitle, "There is a time for everything". I hope it won't be too long before you can do this again.
What a little sweetie, in those last year's photos.
You've done what I often do with our two grandsons. I send them pictures of places we've been and remind them that we'll go there again. They arrived from the east yesterday, and we've already been all around Pondside to check out the things they remember.
So sweet Anneliese....
What great photos and memories. I just love that little sundress.
So sweet! Lacy will be retelling this story to her little sister.
Such a sweet post...and a sweet memory!
I love the memories you are and have planted Anneliese. Thank you for sharing.
Adorable photos and a precious memory. You're giving me ideas how to carry on long-distance grandparenting. Lord willing, I'll have a wee one in the UK someday. And I'm already storing up some ideas to make it work.
We miss you Lacey!
Aw! I can't believe how little she looks in these pictures! And how much she's changed-- now she chases the geese trying to pet them! Thank you for sharing these pictures, she lit up when she saw them...a very special memory with a very special Mimi.
